My Doula Calling
Began in San Diego, CA
I am a full-spectrum certified birth and postpartum doula with a deep commitment to women’s health, reproductive justice, and holistic family support. My work is rooted in compassionate, evidence-based care that honors the physical, emotional, and spiritual transitions of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
I completed my birth doula certification with For the Village (San Diego) after volunteering for over a year and a half as a birth doula with the UCSD Hearts & Hands Program, supporting families in hospital settings. I later earned my postpartum doula certification through CAPPA (Colorado), where I deepened my training in newborn care, recovery support, and overnight postpartum work.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, political policy, and changemaking, which informs my client-centered approach, advocacy skills, and ability to support families within complex medical and social systems. My passion for reproductive advocacy began in college through academic study in sex, power, and politics, and continues to shape the way I support informed choice and bodily autonomy.
My connection to mind–body–spirit care is central to my practice. I am a certified yoga teacher and longtime yoga student, with teaching experience in studios across San Diego and Boulder, and I often incorporate grounding techniques, breath work, and nervous-system support into my doula care.
My experience with infants and family care began early as a mother’s helper in a large family of 21 cousins, fostering a natural confidence with newborns and family dynamics. I grew up in Brazil and have lived internationally, including time studying in Portugal, experiences that inform my culturally responsive and inclusive approach to care. Boulder, Colorado is now my home base.
